Flagstaff Ranch Golf Club, founded in 2003, was originally planned for the Caldera before a land trade organized by Jimmy Mehen secured its current location in 1999–2000. Construction began in August 2000, led by builder Wadsworth and course designer Jerry Pate, a U.S. Open champion. The course was carefully designed to preserve the natural landscape, resulting in unmatched views and a seamless fit within the forested surroundings. Unique to its development, the driving range area provided material for building I-40 and I-17. Member-owned since 2015, Flagstaff Ranch has grown into one of Arizona’s premier private golf courses and residential communities, consistently ranked among the best in the state and the nation.
